Wireless charging coils provide direct replacements for EOL devices

Vishay Intertechnology has introduced new powdered iron-based, WPC-compliant wireless charging coils that give direct replacements for devices for which end-of-life had been announced in 2017. Providing a durable construction and high permeability shielding, these Vishay Dale receiver and transmitter coils afford high efficiency in a mixture of industry-standard sizes.

For wireless charging up to 10W in portable electronics, the six new receiver coils offer inductance of 10.8µH to 22µH at 200kHz with ±5% inductance tolerance, typical Q from 29 to 65 at 200kHz, and DCR from 175mOhm to 427mOhm (±5%) at +25C.

For Qi wireless charging pads, these three new transmitters provide inductance of 6.3µH to 24µH at 200kHz with a ±5% inductance tolerance, DCR from 40mOhm to 75mOhm (±5%) at +25C, and typical Q from 185 to 200 at 200kHz. The devices are available with heat rated current of 6A and 7A, and saturation current of 20A and 22A.
