Z-Communications has announced a new high performance, RoHS compliant VCO model CRO3700K-LF. The device incorporates the frequency range of 3600MHz to 3800MHz within a tuning voltage range of 0.5VDC to 18VDC. This innovative VCO provides a spectrally clean signal of -106dBc/Hz @ 10kHz offset while incorporating the band with a typical tuning sensitivity of 18MHz/V.

The low-cost device is intended to deliver 3±3dBm of output power into a 50Ohm load while running over the extended commercial temperature range of -40C to 85C. This unmatched VCO works off an 8VDC supply while drawing typically 30mA of current and features a typical second harmonic suppression of -20dBc. The device comes in the company's standard MINI-16-SM package measuring 0.5" x 0.5" x 0.22" and it is provided in tape and reel packaging for production demands making it excellent for automated surface mount assembly and reflow.

The VCO is ideal for satellite communication applications and microwave radio systems that need low phase noise performance.
