Synchronous buck FET drivers optimised for CPU VCORE applications

Texas Instruments TPS59603-Q1 Synchronous Buck FET Drivers are optimised for high-frequency CPU VCORE applications. These advanced features such as decreased dead-time drive and auto-zero crossing are utilised to optimise efficiency over the complete load range. The SKIP pin gives the option of CCM operation to support the controlled management of the output voltage.

The device also supports two low-power modes. With the PWM input in tri-state, the quiescent current is decreased to 130µA, with an immediate response. When SKIP is held at tri-state, the current is decreased to 8µA (typically 20µs is required to resume switching). Paired with a relevant controller, the drivers give a particularly high-performance power supply system. The device is supplied in a space-saving, thermally-enhanced 8-pin, 2mm x 2mm wettable flanks WSON package and operates from –40C to 125C.

Typical applications include automotive rear seat entertainment tablets using high-frequency CPUs; and automotive ADAS processor core power.
