Lattice Semiconductor MachXO3D FPGAs are the next generation of low-density PLDs incorporating improved security features and an on-chip dual boot flash. The device is available now from Mouser. The FPGAs improve secure control applications with hardware Root-of-Trust and dual boot abilities. The device simplifies the implementation of comprehensive, adaptable, and robust hardware security through the product lifecycle. This customisable approach enables implementation with an extensive array of system architectures.

The FPGAs offer many robust security features, including detecting cryptographically and stopping a boot from malicious code. The on-device configuration flash allows dual boot, excluding the requirement for external memory. The hardened device configuration engine assures only FPGA configurations from a trusted source can be installed. The devices also offer a reliable, flexible, and secure configuration from on-chip Flash with the encryption and authentication options.

The device complies with NIST SP 800 193 PFR guidelines. The devices are provided in two performance levels, the ultra-low-power (ZC) or the high performance (HC). The PLDs are offered in a wide range of advanced halogen-free packages, extending from the space-saving 10mm x 10mm QFN to the 19mm x 19mm caBGA. The devices support density migration within the same package.

Typical applications include consumer electronics, compute and storage, wireless communications, industrial control systems, and automotive systems.
