Analog Devices/Linear Technology LTC7880 Step-Up Controllers are dual PolyPhase, DC-DC synchronous, switching regulator controllers with an I2C-based PMBus compliant serial interface. The device uses a constant-frequency, current-mode architecture, with high voltage input and output ability as well as programmable loop compensation.

The device is supported by the LTpowerPlay software development tool with a GUI. The device can program output voltage, switching frequency, and device address by digital interfaces as well as external configuration resistors. Parameters can be set through the digital interface or stored in EEPROM. The gate drive can be programmed from 6.3V to 9V to maximise efficiency. Both outputs provide an independent power good indicator and FAULT function.

Typical application areas include automotive always-on and start-stop systems; and industrial and point of load applications.
