The Microchip Technology AC164160 AVR-IoT WG MCU Development Board is created to demonstrate the effectiveness of AVR and PIC MCUs in IoT sensor node solutions. This board comprises an ATMEGA4808 MCU and ATWINC1500 SmartConnect IoT module. This board employs smart modules to decrease the burden of complex algorithm implementation by the MCU. Its onboard chip enables any device to create a secure connection to the Google Cloud IoT.

Rapid development tools incorporating START and MCC can be employed with the evaluation board for plug and play functionality. The board utilises a cryptographic coprocessor chip to store private keys, validate the firmware and provide a secure boot process for the device.

Features and benefits include drag and drop programmer, light and temperature sensors, Li-Po battery port and charger, MikroBUS footprint supports over 500 ad-on-boards, secure IoT functionality, USB power, and debugging and UART communication.

Typical applications include electronics laboratories, embedded systems, and IoT systems.

The board is certified to ANSI/ESD S20.20:2014, BS EN 61340-5-1:2007, IEEE 802.11, and IEEE 802.11 b/g/n standards.
