Texas Instruments IWR1843 Industrial Radar Sensor is an integrated single-chip mmWave sensor based on FMCW radar technology. The device can run in the 76GHz to 81GHz band with up to 4GHz continuous chirp. The sensors offer the low-power 45nm RFCMOS process facilitating unprecedented levels of integration in an extremely small form factor. The sensors are an excellent solution for self-monitored, low-power, ultra-accurate radar systems in industrial applications, such as factory automation, drones, building automation, material handling, traffic monitoring, and surveillance.

The device comprises a monolithic implementation of a 3TX, 4RX system with built-in PLL, and A2D converters. The device also includes a DSP subsystem, which comprises the company's high-performance C674x DSP for the radar signal processing. The device incorporates an ARM R4F-based processor subsystem, which manages front-end configuration, control, and calibration. Simple programming model changes aid a broad mixture of sensor implementation with the opportunity of dynamic reconfiguration for implementing a multimode sensor. The HWA can produce radar processing and can assist in saving MIPS on the DSP for higher-level algorithms.

The sensor is offered as a complete platform solution, including the company's reference designs, software drivers, sample configurations, API guides, training, and user documentation.
