Mouser now stocks the BL654PA (Power Amplified) module from Laird Connectivity. The FCC, IC, KC, RCM, and Bluetooth SIG-certified module enables engineers to install single-mode Bluetooth 5 and Thread (802.15.4) technology into simple Bluetooth Low Energy designs.

The module is based on the highly flexible multi-protocol Nordic nRF52840 SoC, which offers a powerful Arm Cortex-M4F core and a multiprotocol radio that supports Bluetooth 5, ANT/ANT+, and proprietary 2.4 GHz networking. The module provides an extended wireless range with transmit power +18dBm, configurable down to -26dBm.

The module gives design flexibility with several programming options, as well as the company's smartBASIC language. The language, excellent for memory-constrained applications, decreases time to market by facilitating fast and efficient Bluetooth Low Energy development. It also serves as a bridge between software and hardware, enabling an application to work on any smartBASIC radio. Offered with either an internal trace antenna or external IPEX MHF4 connector, the module is excellent for applications such as beacons, industrial monitors, medical peripherals, smart home, and other IoT devices.

The module is supported by the BL654PA development kits, also offered with either an internal trace antenna or external IPEX MHF4 connector. Allowing rapid wireless connectivity prototyping, the kit provides multiple power supply options, including USB, external DC supply, and batteries.
