Available from Mouser, MikroElektronika Hexiwear wearable development kit can be used to create prototypes like a smartwatch, remote sensor tag or smarthome controller. This do-anything device is compact with high-end style and usability. The company has teamed up with NXP to power the Hexiwear with the NXP Kinetis K64 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 MCU. The Kinetis KW4x Arm Cortex-MO+ BLE MCU provides connectivity and multiple on-board NXP sensors are included. This expandable board is packed with a 3D accelerometer and magnetometer, 3-axis digital gyroscope, pressure sensor and 600mA battery charger. Functionality can be expanded with the docking station and the ever-growing line of click boards. The kit has a capacitive touch interface 1.1” full-colour OLED display. Applications for Android and iOS are available from the Google Play or App Store. The app connects the device to the cloud with no need for additional software development. The kit uses FreeRTOS, the Kinetis software development kit (SDK) and the Kinetis Design Studio IDE.
