A high-efficiency miniaturized step-down converter able to provide 500mA output current from an input voltage from 2.3V to 5.5V, the STMicroelectronics ST1S15 is now available from RS Components. The device is specifically designed for applications where high efficiency and compact design are the key factors. With an output voltage as low as 0.6V the device supports low voltage DSPs and processors core supply. It is possible to select a PFM mode for high efficiency under light load conditions or PWM mode for tight regulation and best dynamic performance. The device also offers short-circuit and thermal protection.
