Tyre pressure monitors also suit ultra low-power wireless sensing systems

Aimed at applications such as tyre pressure monitoring systems and ultra low-power wireless sensing, Freescale's FXTH8715 Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors (TPMS) are now available from Mouser. The highly-integrated TPMS offer the smallest package footprint on the market at 7mm x 7mm, says the company. The devices provide the lowest transmitting power consumption (less than 8mA Idd). They also offer the largest memory size (8kB) currently available and a unique dual-axis accelerometer architecture. This TPMS solution integrates an 8-bit microcontroller (MCU), pressure sensor, XZ-axis or Z-axis accelerometer and RF transmitter. These devices, with pressure ranges of 100-1500kPa, supports medium and heavy duty trucks, buses and construction vehicles.
