AEC-Q101-Qualified rectifiers save space and improve efficiency in auto applications

Vishay has introduced six new rectifiers in the compact low-profile surface-mount SMF (DO-219AB) eSMP package. Offering forward currents of 1A and 2A and low forward voltage drops and leakage currents, the AEC-Q101-qualified devices reduce power losses and improve efficiency in automotive applications. The range includes one standard, three Schottky barrier, and two Hyperfast FRED Pt rectifiers for high-frequency DC-DC converter, freewheeling diode, and power line polarity protection applications in automotive systems, including engine control units (ECU), antilock braking systems (ABS), and LED lighting. With a compact footprint and low profile, the devices' SMF package saves significant board space compared with standard SMA, SMB, and SMC packages while increasing power density to reduce overall costs. The SS1F4HM3, SS1FH6HM3, and SS2FH6HM3 Schottky rectifiers offer 40V and 60V reverse voltages and low forward voltage drops down to 0.37V at 1A, 125C. In addition, the SE10FJHM3 standard rectifier is built on an oxide planar chip technology that provides for class H3B ESD protection (>8kV) based on the AEC-Q101-001 human body model (contact mode). The Hyperfast VS-1EFH02HM3 and VS-2EFH02HM3 FRED Pt rectifiers feature extremely fast and soft recovery characteristics, with recovery times down to 28ns. The devices offer breakdown voltages of 200 V and low forward voltage drops down to 0.93V at 1A The rectifiers feature a planar structure and platinum doped lifetime control to guarantee high overall performance, ruggedness and reliability characteristics, says the company.
