Deserialiser hub for machine vision and robotic imaging applications

08-03-2024 | Mouser Electronics | Semiconductors

Mouser now supplies Texas Instruments' TDES9640 V3Link deserialiser hub. The hub connects up to four data sensors to a processing unit over a coaxial or STP cable. When combined with companion serialisers, the hub receives video data from image sensors or video sources, enabling ultra-high resolutions for multiple sensors in appliances, machine vision, and robotic and medical imaging applications.

The hub offers leading-edge smart sensing and secure connectivity, along with power-saving motor drive, control, and power management functions that boost sensor and link performance, using a robust, ultra-high-speed forward (7.55Gbps) and bi-directional control channel (47.1875Mbps), to push and aggregate data into two MIPI CSI-2 D-PHY or C-PHY outputs, for downstream processing. The flexible MIPI CSI-2 outputs support multiple virtual channels, interleaving each port to differentiate between various sensors, exposures, and data types while supporting advanced diagnostic and multi-level data integrity protection with programmable health status interrupt. The hub minimises chips and cabling, synchronises multiple cameras and allows AI and high-performance processing for machine vision applications.

The hub, together with integrated multipurpose processors featuring AI accelerators and high-speed communication interfaces such as Gigabit Ethernet, single-pair Ethernet, USB 3.0, and PoE, is compatible with industry-standard sensor and display interfaces and a variety of cable and connector types for radar, LIDAR, or other ultrasonic proximity applications.
