Power line communication transformers offer excellent transmission characteristics

Bourns PFBR45 Power Line Communication (PLC) Transformers, available now from Mouser, provide excellent transmission characteristics in a compact surface-mount housing. The transformers are created for ST Micro 8500 PLC SoC. The PFBR45-ST (standard) is for functional insulation, and the PFBR45-SP (extended) is for reinforced insulation, with a working voltage of 400VDC.

These components provide a 1.5µH typical leakage inductance, a 0.45W power rating, and a -40C to +125C operating temperature range. They have a moisture sensitivity level of 1, and comply with EN 62368 and EN 61885, and are RoHS compliant.

Applications include smart grids, automatic meter reading, CCTV cameras, PC home networks, street lighting, and home automation.
