Texas Instruments MSP430F563x Mixed-Signal Microcontrollers, available from Mouser, comprise several devices that provide different sets of peripherals for various applications. The architecture and extensive low-power modes are optimised to provide extended battery life in portable measurement applications. The 16-bit RISC architecture with five low-power modes is optimised to deliver extended battery life in portable measurement applications.

The device features a powerful 16-bit RISC CPU, 16-bit registers, and constant generators that aid maximum code efficiency. The DCO enables the device to wake up from low-power modes to active mode in 3µs (typical).

The microcontrollers provide a high-performance 12-bit ADC, a comparator, two USCIs, USB 2.0, a hardware multiplier, DMA, four 16-bit timers, an RTC module with alarm capabilities, and up to 74 I/O pins.

Typical applications include analog and digital sensor systems, digital motor control, remote controls, thermostats, digital timers, and hand-held meters.
