GaN amplifier for communication systems and defence applications

Qorvo QPA4246D 10W GaN Amplifier, available now from Mouser, is optimised for the 37.5GHz to 42.5GHz Satcom Q-V band. The device accomplishes 5W linear power with 25dBc third-order intermodulation distortion products and 16dB small-signal gain. This device delivers 10W of saturated output power while attaining 17% power-added efficiency. It is fully matched to 50-Ohm with integrated DC blocking caps on both I/O ports to simplify system integration. The device's RF ports are DC coupled to ground for optimum ESD performance.

The amplifier is constructed on a proprietary 0.15µm GaNon SiC process (QGaN15). This device is offered as a 4.2mm x 5mm x 0.05mm bare die and is 100% DC and RF tested on-wafer to ensure compliance to electrical specifications. The device is lead-free and RoHS compliant.

Typical applications include communication systems, electronic defence, commercial radar, and defence radar.
