Vishay Intertechnology has launched a new commercial IHSR high temperature inductor in the 7.4mm x 6.6mm x 3mm 2525 case size. Intended for multi-phase, high current power supplies and filters, the Vishay Dale IHSR-2525CZ-51 provides a 50 % reduction in DCR over typical power inductors, superb inductance stability across the complete operating temperature range, and soft saturation in comparison to ferrite solutions.

Based on th company's IHLP technology, the inductor is optimised for energy storage in DC-DC converters up to 10MHz and high current filtering applications up to the SRF of the inductor. With its high operating temperature up to +155C, the device is created for filtering and DC-DC conversion in desktops, notebooks, and servers; POL converters; distributed power systems; graphics cards; and FPGAs.

The device's low typical DCR of 0.38mOhm and inductance of 0.056µH provide for a higher current density than competing technologies, while its 3mm profile allows slimmer end products. Packaged in a 100% lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction that lessens buzz noise to ultra-low levels, the inductor gives high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, and mechanical shock and manages high transient current spikes with no saturation. The device is RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green.
