Tantalum capacitors ideal for consumer and defence applications

New Yorker Electronics has released the new Mallory Sonalert Tantalum Products Group’s subminiature Silver Case Tantalum Capacitors in the TS5 Series. This capacitor provides a high CV product per case size and is ideal for high powered equipment needing a small capacitor package.

These capacitors are ideal for consumer, industrial, and defence applications where a hermetic seal is unnecessary. Still, the application does offer a high level of shock, vibration, and/or temperature protection. The capacitor is available from 1µF to 1200µF and 6VDC to 60VDC @85C. Other features incorporate its high capacitance-weight ratio, its low DC leakage and its availability in multiple case sizes to maximise volumetric efficiency.

As well as its silver case, the anode is sintered tantalum with embedded tantalum leads. The negative terminals are tin-lead coated copper, and its positive terminals are tin-lead coated nickel. The operating temperature covers -55C to +85C, and the capacitance and dissipation factor are measured at 120Hz and 25C with an AC voltage of 0.5VRMS.
