Voltage detector optimised for automotive applications

Ricoh Electronic Devices Company R3154N Series Voltage Detector, available now from Mouser, is a high-accuracy window voltage detector optimised for usage in automotive applications. The device comprises two detectors for overvoltage and undervoltage monitoring, each with built-in hysteresis, making it less sensitive to supply voltage noise and providing stable operation. An extra test pin allows a diagnostic method to verify the correct operation of the voltage detector periodically.

The detector functions at a supply voltage up to 42V. The device monitors over-and-under output voltages from the power supply IC for a microprocessor and a sensor and detects an abnormal voltage of systems. The device provides undervoltage detection down to 0.55V, making it ideal for low power devices.

The high accuracy of the device's sense voltage and hysteresis levels allow the device to detect malfunctions in an early stage. This is particularly important for safety-critical applications and automotive systems needing fault detection, including ADAS, ECU, and control units, as well as EV inverters and charge controllers.

The device is provided in a compact SOT-23-6 package to minimise PCB space needs.
