The Renesas RA6M1 is the entry point to the company's RA6 product series for applications that need a high-performance Arm Cortex-M4F core at a very competitive price point. The device is available now from RS Components. The device is constructed on a highly efficient 40nm process and is supported by an open and flexible ecosystem concept – the Flexible Software Package, built on FreeRTOS – and is expandable to use other RTOSes and middleware. The device is ideal for IoT application demanding security, large embedded RAM and low power consumption.

The kit includes 120MHz Arm Cortex-M4F, 512kB Flash Memory and 256kB SRAM and 8kB DataFlash to store data as in EEPROM. The device is scalable from 64pin to 100pin packages and includes capacitive touch sensing unit with USB2.0 Full Speed, CAN 2.0B, SCI (UART, Simple SPI, Simple I2C), SPI/ I2C Multimaster Interface, SDHI, and SSI/Serial Sound Interface.

Application fields include security, metering, industry, and HVAC.
