Mouser has added new features to the ECAD resources on its millions of product detail pages on its website. Together with SamacSys, the company offers customers an array of design resources, including schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D models for more than 1.1 million components. These design resources, offered at no charge to Mouser customers, operate seamlessly with top engineering CAD systems, that includes Cadence and Altium.

The ECAD models are displayed as a parameter in the company's website search page so that engineers can view at a glance if the parts in searches incorporate ECAD model availability. Furthermore, engineers can click the model icon to open a preview of the ECAD model, enabling them to evaluate the package and symbol before purchasing the part and downloading the model. SamacSys supports all of the company's new product introductions, giving engineers access to a current, high-quality library of schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D models for the latest available components.

Sourcing PCB footprints, schematic symbols and 3D models and including them can be a tedious process. Together the companies facilitate the design phase by providing accessible, high-quality PCB library content, for each component and all engineers. The goal is to expedite time to market with seamless integration into engineers’ current PCB design tools.
