Fibre optic connectors and cables offer low noise digital signal connectivity

Cliff Electronics now provides an extensive range of optical connectors, cables and accessories ideal for high-quality audio and broadcast systems, AV installations, home theatre, games consoles, automation, instrumentation, medical equipment instrumentation, data and IT connectivity, industrial control and data acquisition and other high bandwidth signal connections.

The company's optical jacks are offered as single or dual optical transmitter/receiver versions with right-angle PCB mounting and a self-tapping screw hole for panel mounting. All satisfy the EIAJ/JEITA rectangular standard CP-1210 and also RC-5720 and JIS C5974-1993 F05 standards for digital audio interfaces incorporating fibre-optic interconnections. Standard and low-profile versions are offered, and three models succeed a plug-in cover with a convenient hinged shutter to guard against contamination.

Electrical specification of the company's optical jacks is supply voltage -0.5V to 7V maximum, input voltage -0.5V to +0.5V maximum, operating temperature -20C to +70C and soldering temperature 260C maximum.
