Step-down converters optimised to create a small solution size

Texas Instruments TPS54A24 SWIFT Step-Down Converters are optimised to create a small solution size, by high efficiency and integrating the high-side and low-side MOSFETs. Peak-current-mode control delivers extra space savings by decreasing component count, and by choosing a high switching frequency, reducing the inductor footprint. Furthermore, the peak-current-mode control simplifies the loop compensation and gives a fast transient response.

A dedicated EN pin can be employed to control the regulator on/off and modify the input under-voltage lockout. The output voltage start-up ramp is controlled by the SS/TRK pin, which enables operation as both a standalone power supply or in tracking situations. The converter is offered in a standard 4mm x 4mm WQFN package.

Typical applications include wired networking (switches), wireless infrastructure, test and measurement, medical imaging equipment, and power for FPGAs, SoCs, DSPs, and processors.
