Sensor module series offers easy environment sensor integration

Mouser now offers the AmbiMate sensor module MS4 series from TE Connectivity. Including four core sensors on a single PCB assembly, the sensor modules allow easy integration in a mixture of host products in lighting, building automation, and smart home applications. The sensor modules are pre-engineered and assembled, enabling manufacturers to apply valuable design resources to other important tasks. The sensor module series all include sensors for motion, light, temperature, and humidity, while optional extras include sensors for sound, CO2, and VOCs. The modules allow multiple attachment options to simply integrate the pre-assembled PCB into the host board. The series sensor modules share a common seven position connection, providing a single PCB footprint to include every available sensor configuration. The sensor modules are ideal for building automation applications where environmental data can inform product decisions. The sensor modules with an integrated microphone can augment motion detection by listening for sound events. A network of modules can detect occupancy, humidity, temperature, and light levels, enabling building controllers to alter indoor lighting, HVAC equipment, energy management, and other zonal environmental controls.
