Available now from Mouser are the Cree XLamp XD16 Extreme Density LEDs. These high-performance, high-density LEDs are based on the company's NX Technology Platform. XD16 LEDs produce a lumen density of more than 284 lumens per square-millimetre. Specifically optimised for applications that need high light output and high lumens-per-watt, as high bays and street lights, the LEDs allow higher performance luminaires with greater light control. The ceramic-based LEDs utilise the proven XQ footprint and provide low thermal resistance, low optical cross-talk, and high reliability. These LEDs are characterised and binned at 85C, available in ANSI White, EasyWhite three-step and five-step colour temperatures (2700K to 6500K), and CRI options of 70, 80, and 90. These LEDs allow lighting manufacturers to obtain dramatic improvements in lumen output and efficacy, without enlarging the size of the LED array, for a broad spectrum of lighting applications such as directional lighting, colour tuning, and industrial lighting.
