Latest LEDs offer high density in a small surface

Mouser is now stocking Lumileds LUXEON CoB Core Range (Gen 4) LEDs. These LEDs provide high flux densities in a small LES, offering double the luminous flux of the third generation of LUXEON CoB Core Range devices. The high-density CoBs can produce the highest CBCP in narrow-beam (less than 20-degree) spotlight applications. The fourth generation of LEDs highlights a single optical LES of 13mm, 15mm, or 19mm that gives high flux densities and high efficacy. The LED arrays are provided over a colour temperature of 3000K to 4000K and CRI of 80 or 90. The CoBs give what is claimed to be the industry’s lowest thermal resistance, allowing smaller heat sinks and optics for lower system cost. The MCPCB substrate is also more sturdy than ceramic substrates that are subject to cracking upon assembly or use. The LEDs are intended for a broad array of general purpose and directional lighting applications including architectural lighting, high bay and low bay fixtures, downlights, and spotlights.
