Gresham Power Electronics offers a new range of Polytron MUI310-A Series of desktop power supplies for medical applications. The universal AC input product range offers a wide selection of output voltages from 12VDC to 44VDC and up to 310W output power. Typical applications include ultrasound equipment, hospital and home patient monitoring systems, medical instrumentation and IT equipment. The MUI310-A is offered in a compact 197.61mm x 101.85mm x 51.05mm desktop package and meets a range of safety approvals and compliances, including CEC level V1, UL/CUL 60601-1, EN 60601-1, IEC 60601-1 3rd Edition, FCC, CE, CB, Active PFC Function DoE VI and RoHS. These devices provide an integrated LED power indicator and have built-in overcurrent, overvoltage, over temperature and short circuit protection. The device can be specified with different power input connectors including C14, C6, C8 and C18. Martin Brabham, sales director of Gresham Power Electronics, comments, “Our new 310W output desk-top power supply, will find many applications in industrial and IT applications in addition to its primary market of medical devices. Up until now a system requiring this much power would almost always have had to accommodate a conventional open frame power supply inside the system. Removing the power supply in this way reduces equipment size, removes the largest heat generating device from the enclosure and greatly simplifies getting safety and EMC approvals on the end equipment. This unit is packaged in smooth case enabling it to be easily wiped clean and sterilised in a healthcare environment. We believe it to have the highest power density of any medical external power supply currently on the market.”
