New enclosures for handheld wired electronics

13-03-2023 | OKW Enclosures | Industrial

OKW has added the new slimline 'S' size to its CONNECT range of handheld plastic enclosures for wired electronics.

The versatile range is excellent for data systems engineering, building services technology, IoT/ IIoT sensors, medical devices, networks, safety engineering, measurement and control.

These enclosures comprise two sections – one flat and recessed for a membrane keypad, the other curved and tactile. Rounded corners add additional ergonomic comfort.

The two shells snap together; there are no fixing screws – reducing assembly time and giving designers a choice of two 'fronts'. Apertures at both ends can be fitted with a cable gland or an end panel.

The enclosures offer plenty of space for compact displays, LEDs and USB connectors. Inside, the flat section has pillars for fitting PCBs and other components.

The new enclosure is 42mm wide x 22mm high and available in three lengths: 60mm, 90mm and 120mm. (Existing size M is 54mm x 22mm x 76/116/156mm.) All the housings are moulded from UV-stable ASA+PC-FR (UL 94 V-0) in either off-white (RAL 9002) or black (RAL 9005).

Accessories comprise rail holding clamps, cable gland kits, end panels, wall holders and PCB mounting screws.

The company can supply these enclosures fully customised. Services include machining, lacquering, printing, laser marking, decor foils, EMC shielding, and installation/assembly of accessories.
