Ruggedized DC-DC converter designed for harsh environments

TRACO POWER released their THN 15WIR family of ruggedized DC-DC converters designed for harsh environments in a miniature 1” x 1” x 0.40” footprint. The converters offer increased resistance against electromagnetic interference, shock/vibration and thermal shock with EN 50155 and EN 61373 compliance making them ideal for harsh industrial environments, railway and transportation systems. The 15W THN 15WIR family consists of 27 models offering ultra-wide four to one input ranges of 9-36 / 18-72 / 36-160VDC and output voltages of 3.3 / 5 / 12 / 15 / 24 / ±5 / ±12 / ±15VDC. The ultra-wide input range satisfies a ±40% deviation of nominal required of today’s railway and transportation systems. These models feature I/O isolation of 3000VDC; efficiency of 88-91% (model dependent); a full load operating temperature range of -40C to 75C (up to 90C with load derating); input under-voltage-lockout; short circuit protection; remote On/Off; and output voltage trim. All models are qualified to railway EN50155, EN61373, EN 45545-2 standards and safety approved to IEC/EN 60950-1, UL60950-1 with Built-in EMI EN55022 for Class A emissions.
