TEKO – Designer ABS enclosures for the latest handheld and portable electronic devices (OVOTEK)
Nov 16 2010 - Subs & Systems [More Subs & Systems Articles]Aimed at the latest handheld and portable electronic devices, TEKO has designed the new ‘OVOTEK’ enclosure range. The ‘unique’ plastic enclosures utilise advanced ergonomics for comfortable handling and operation of the controls during use.
Typical applications will include remote control devices, peripherals, measurement instruments, medical and wellness equipment. The enclosures can be used for mobile battery powered devices, or for control units cable connected to a machine.
Moulded in off-white or black ABS (UL94 HB), the enclosures have external dimensions of 165mm x 103mm x 38mm and are assembled by four self-tapping screws. The enclosures can be supplied with a smooth domed top section, or a flat top with central recessed area for mounting a membrane keypad, a 4.3-inch TFT screen, or product label. Internal screw pillars are provided for fitting PCBs and keypad assemblies.
The cases can be ordered with battery compartments for two or four 1.5V AA cells or one or two 9V cells. The enclosures can be supplied with additional holes for push-buttons, connectors and controls etc., plus silk-screen printed legends and logos. The cases can also be moulded or painted in alternative colours, says the company.
