ProTek Devices has released a high-powered TVS array for board-level circuit protection in mobile devices, USB fast-charging voltage buses, batteries, and industrial equipment. The new TVS array is intended to protect sensitive electronics from damage or latch-up due to electrical overstress, CDE, lightning, and ESD.

The PVCOM24 provides a fast response time, low leakage current, a low operating voltage, and a low clamping voltage. It is compatible with IEC standards 61000-4-2 (ESD): air +/-30kV, contact +/-30kV; with 61000-4-4 (EFT): 4kV - 5/50ns; and with 61000-4-5 (surge): 37A, 8/20 microseconds.

It provides 1,600W peak pulse power per line (typical = 8/20 microseconds), unidirectional configuration, and offers a high peak pulse current capability. The device is also RoHS and REACH compliant.

The device is provided in a DFN-2 package with approximate weight of only 3mg. This is a similar size package to a SOD-532 or 1.6mm x 0.8mm. It offers lead-free plating and a solder reflow temperature (pure-tin - Sn, 100) of 260-270C. It also has a flammability rating of UL 94V-0. The operating temperature is -40C to 150C, and the storage temperature is -55C to 150C.
