Available from AVX is Ethertronics’ LoRa Module ETH-LORA-M-AX-01 an SMT mounted cost-efficient and low power radio module that operates in the unlicensed 868/915MHz bands. The device combines a LoRa transceiver SX1272 of Semtech Corporation with Ethertronics chipset and technologies to maximise the link budget and RF performance. A sensitivity of up to -138dBm and maximum output power of +19dBm produces a link budget of more than 156dB. The increase in the link budget produces a much longer range and robustness with no need for extra components.

Produced for the global market, the device serves to reduce time-consuming radio development and related costs. When compared to other available modules in the market, the module is embedded with proprietary Impedance Matching and Active Steering capabilities to optimise the RF performance on its own to deliver an excellent ultra-long range spread spectrum communication.

The module is created with power-saving techniques so that the current consumption is low even when in communication.

Fast time-to-market is also achievable with two types of demo boards (Active/Passive) equipped with high-performance antennas provided by Ethertronics.

Typical applications cover smart metering, smart grids, smart city, telemetry, and IoT.
