The Maxim Integrated DC-DC step-down power module from Farnell element14 is a user-friendly device that combines a switching power supply controller, dual N-channel MOSFET power switches, shielded inductor and compensation components in a thermally efficient, low-profile SiP. It is from the Himalaya series of voltage regulator ICs and the power modules are designed to enable smaller, simpler power supply solutions. The MAXM17504 is an easy to use step down power module that operates over a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 60V, delivering up to 3.5A continuous output current with excellent line and load regulation over an output voltage range of 0.9V to 12V. Only five external components are required by the device to complete the total power solution. High level integration helps to significantly reduce design complexity and manufacturing risks, offering a genuine plug-and-play power supply solution and reducing time-to-market. The device is available in a low-profile, highly thermal-emissive, compact 29-pin 9mm x 15mm x 2.8mm SiP package for reduced power dissipation and enhanced efficiency. It can easily be soldered onto a printed circuit board and is suitable for automated circuit board assembly. Industrial operating temperature range is -40C to +125C.
