RS Components now offers two motor-drive analysers from test and measurement maker Fluke that help safely locate and troubleshoot common problems on inverter type motor-drive systems. The MDA-510 and MDA-550 support engineers by freeing time and providing the quick set-up of complex measurements, and the simplification of the troubleshooting process through guided test set-ups and automated drive measurements. Users of these devices can easily select a test, and then step-by-step guided measurements tell users where to make voltage and current connections. Pre-set measurement profiles assure the acquisition of data for each crucial motor-drive section, including from input to output, on the DC bus, and the motor itself. The MDA-510 guides users throughout this process of making measurements from the power inputs to the motor outputs of the drive, and provides specific information about various measurements and how to connect them up, along with diagrams explaining the connections. The MDA-550 adds to these abilities by allowing the measurement of harmonics around the primary frequency as well as in the higher range from 9kHz to 150kHz. It also comprises shaft voltage measurement, probes and probe holder. Providing four input channels for voltage and current signals, key features comprise measurement of key motor-drive parameters including voltage, current, AC ripple, DC Bus voltage level, voltage and current unbalance, and voltage modulation; and measurement of further electrical parameters via a full 500MHz bandwidth oscilloscope. Other features cover quick and easy report creation for documenting troubleshooting and USB A and USB mini-B connectivity.
