RS Components has introduced two rugged diagnostic videoscopes from Fluke that are aimed at maintenance engineers and other professionals wanting to undertake equipment inspections and diagnose problems in a broad assortment of industrial applications. The new rugged Fluke DS701 and DS703 FC videoscopes provide high resolutions of 800 x 600 and 1200 x 720, respectively. Key features include high-definition probes that come with dual-view cameras, allowing video or still images to be taken in hard-to-reach locations; 7" LCD viewscreens; and IP68-rated probes and imagers for protection against dust and water projected from a nozzle. The units offer a macro-to-micro zoom function, and Fluke’s ‘Up is Up’ technology, which is intended to rotate the screen to allow better image views. An intuitive user interface also allows easy-to-navigate button technology. Both devices have been built to endure a drop of 2m. They are provided with an EVA foam protective case, hand strap, and HDMI and USB cables. The device is aimed at many applications including inspection of bearing surfaces and lubrication in production and manufacturing environments; aircraft maintenance and automotive quality assurance; as well as other heavy-duty maintenance applications such as the inspection of clogged pipelines or corrosion in rotors.
