Industrial sensor solution provides environmental sensing in Industry 4.0 applications

Now in stock at Mouser is the Connected Industrial Sensor Solution (CISS) from Bosch. The CISS is a robust, multi-sensor device designed to enable IoT applications in harsh environments, using MEMS technology to identify vibration and acceleration and other environmental conditions. The solution combines a gyroscope, magnetometer, accelerometer, microphone, temperature/humidity/air pressure sensor, and light sensor. Engineers can activate or deactivate each sensor separately and configure the sensors’ sampling rates and thresholds to satisfy a variety of applications. The CISS features a 32-bit Arm Cortex-M3 microcontroller with 1MByte of internal flash, as well as a Bluetooth LE radio and USB connectivity for data transmission. The device offers valuable data to optimise maintenance processes and improve productivity and can be combined in a broad range of hardware-agnostic gateways and clouds. The device provides for the monitoring of multiple conditions together to offer improved predictive maintenance, while both live and historic data can be provided over the Virtual CISS app or the cloud. The compact, IP54-rated device provides an operating temperature range of -20C to 80C, making it ideal for Industry 4.0 applications, including industrial retrofitting, preventative maintenance, digital twinning, and condition monitoring.
