RS Components offers the XP Power QSB Series of DC-DC converters, providing the company with the widest range of power supplies from XP Power. Created for applications which include signal processing, telecoms, networking and industrial systems, the new series provides a stabilised output at a range of standard voltages between 3.3V and 48V, at power levels of 75W to 600W. The series accepts a wide range of input voltages, typically produced from a battery. Input ranges for most models are 2:1 or 4:1, including 18–36VDC or 9–36VDC (24V nominal) and 36–75VDC or 18–75VDC (48V nominal). However, the 150W QSB15048W models allow a wider 8:1 input range, accepting anything from 9V to 75V. Power conversion efficiency is high: typically between 86% and 93% depending on model. High power densities of up to 123.0 W/in3 are achieved. Modules can be connected in parallel for higher power requirements. All these power converters provide 1500VDC isolation, with isolation resistance of 107Ohm or 109Ohm and isolation capacitance ranging from 100pF to 4000pF. All provide remote on/off functions, and all except QSB15048W models include remote sense, compensating up to 10% of nominal output voltage. These converters are available in baseplate cooled packages with industry standard footprints — including half brick and full brick formats. They can operate over a wide temperature range from –40C to +100C. Over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature protection are provided
