Low power wideband RF synthesizer with FSK modulation

The Texas Instruments LMX2572LP is a low-power, high-performance wideband synthesiser that can produce one frequency from 12.5MHz to 2GHz without the need for an internal doubler. The PLL delivers excellent performance while consuming only 70mA from a single 3.3V supply. For applications like DMR and wireless microphones, the device supports FSK modulation. Discrete level FSK and pulse-shaping FSK are supported. Direct digital FSK modulation is attainable through programming or pins. The device enables users to synchronise the output of various devices and also allows applications that require deterministic delay between input and output. The device offers an option to modify the phase with fine granularity to account for delay mismatch on the board or in devices. A frequency ramp generator can synthesise up to two segments of ramp in an automatic ramp generation option or a manual option for greatest flexibility. The fast calibration algorithm enables the user to alter frequencies faster than 20µs. The device integrates LDOs from a single 3.3V supply, thus removing the need for onboard low-noise LDOs.
