RS Components is working closely with Siemens to help customers with the phase-out of the manufacturer’s SIRIUS 3SB3 22mm pushbutton range and the migration to Siemens’ SIRIUS ACT range of devices. In October 2017, the company announced the start of a progressive phase-out period – lasting two years – of its command and signalling devices, giving customers enough time to migrate to the newer range of ACT pushbutton devices. From October 2019, the company will stop delivery of the SIRIUS 3SB3. To help customers such as machine and panel builders in the migration to the ACT range, RS has prepared a cross-reference list from SB3 to CT devices. This list, which is available on the company website, includes the RS stock numbers and Siemens part codes, as well as further information to ensure a smooth changeover path for customers. The new series of pushbuttons provide very modern design choices with four different lines to suit customers’ facilities, as well as being extremely sturdy, offering a degree of protection to IP69K, even without protective caps. The devices also provide highly flexible communications via standard wiring or direct connection to controllers via AS-Interface, IO-Link or PROFINET. Also, the pushbuttons are simple to deploy with easy installation and online configuration and ordering.
