Transceivers for high-performance motion control satisfy a variety of applications

The MAX22500E and MAX22501E RS485/RS-422 transceivers from Maxim Integrated are now available from Mouser. These devices offer up to twice the data rates over longer distances compared to similar devices, delivering increased accuracy for demanding encoder interfaces, motion control systems, and other industrial controls. These half-duplex transceivers offer flexible performance with ±15V HBM ESD protection to satisfy a variety of applications. The devices offer a big receiver hysteresis of 250mV, which gives excellent EFT robustness. The transceivers offer integrated hot-swap protection and a fail-safe receiver to guarantee a logic-high on the receiver output when input signals are shorted or open for longer than 10µs. The transceivers are underpinned by the fully assembled and tested MAX22500E and MAX22501E evaluation kits. These kits can be used for standalone evaluation or connected to an RS-485/RS-422 network for in-system evaluation.
