Available now from RS Components, the MinnowBoard MAX is an open hardware embedded platform from CircuitCo. Based on the 64-bit Intel Atom dual-core processor, the MinnowBoard MAX is a high-power development board with a small form factor. Designed for both embedded developers and the maker community, the development board is ideal for producing high-performance embedded applications and products. The MinnowBoard MAX is also an ideal platform for Internet of Things (IoT) designs and supports Windows 10 IoT Core Insider Preview. Additional 'Lure' breakout boards are available to expand the functionality of the MinnowBoard MAX. High-performance and flexibility enable the user to create cost-effective customised designs. The E3825 Intel Atom processor featured on the MinnowBoard MAX is from the E3800 Bay Trail family. This 64-bit system-on-chip (SoC) has been designed for intelligent systems and offers quality compute, graphical and media performance alongside an extended thermal range. Additional highlights of the Intel E3800 family include; high I/O connectivity, integrated memory controller, virtualization, error correcting code (ECC), and built-in security capabilities within a thermal design power (TDP) range of 5W to 10W.
