A new range of high-performance, RoHS-compliant press-fit D-subminiature
connectors has been introduced by GTK, providing robust mounting to PCBs
without the need for soldering.
Press-fit technology reduces assembly time and cost significantly, creating
a tight and reliable seal and removing the risk of uneven solder flow or
contamination of sensitive components. Moreover, connectors are easily
removed or replaced by applying pressure in the reverse direction.
The press-fit D-sub connectors, manufactured with a 6mm profile height,
deliver a processing temperature of 230C to -245C for 5 seconds. Devices are
available in 9-, 15-, 25- and 37-way options, and are suitable for use on
all PCBs and backplanes for telecommunications and data communications
systems. A range of mounting hardware options is available, including board
locks, standoffs and threaded inserts, says the company.
