A new sealed industrial keyboard aimed at industries where hygiene and deep
cleaning are essential, has been introduced by InduKey. The InduProof3
keyboard has the same established performance features as the InduProof2 but
now comes with high quality Hall sensor mouse button and backlight option.
Wherever dirt, dust and splashing water are likely to be harmful to
keyboards and even a small drop of water can paralyse the whole electronic
system, InduKey keyboards are at their best.
The keyboard is encased in a silicone cover, which is seen as ideal for
areas such as food processing applications that require a high degree of
chemical resistance for equipment disinfection, and wherever dirt, dust and
splashing water are present.
The keyboard is sealed to IP68 standard making it completely waterproof and
dustproof. Together with its ease of cleaning, it is seen as ideal for use
in factories and laboratories as well as in medical and food environments
requiring stringent hygiene standards. The base of the InduProof3 is made of
a sealed metal plate, which protects against the use of harsh cleaning
fluids and disinfectants and the keyboard is rated NEMA6P and IP68 for full
immersion in disinfectants or other liquids.
The keyboard uses mechanical key
SWITCHes for 'excellent' tactile feedback
and durability and can be easily operated with a gloved hand. The high
quality of input acknowledgement helps prevent typing errors and assists
accurate data entry. The keyboard is available in two different interfaces,
two PS/2 interfaces (keyboard and mouse-button) or a USB interface, says the
company.
