The LTM8033, a complete new 3A DC-DC µModule regulator system has been
unveiled by Linear Technology. In addition to the device's onboard
inductor, DC-DC CONVERTER and supporting circuitry, it includes an EMI
(electromagnetic interference) filter, making it compliant with EN55022
Class-B by a wide margin., says the company.
The circuitry is housed in a small 11.25mm x 15mm x 4.32mm enclosed plastic
LGA (land grid array) package and weighs only 2.3g. The LTM8033 operates
from a wide input voltage range of 3.6V to 36V and can provide a regulated
output voltage ranging from 0.8V to 24V at up to 3A. If more than 3A is
required, multiple LTM8033 devices can be paralleled for current sharing.
Simplicity, compactness and EN55022 compliance allows the LTM8033 to be used
in applications that require low-noise operation such as medical equipment,
avionics systems, communication wireless systems and ultrasonic detectors.
The LTM8033 has a resistor-selectable SWITCHing frequency adjustable from
200kHz to 2.4MHz, enabling the designer to improve EFFICIENCY according to
the VIN-to-VOUT ratio of the conversion. The LTM8033 is rated for operation
from -40C to 125C and -55C to 125C.
