Samtec- New guide details versatile application-specific interconnects

Available in print and online, Samtec has announced availability of its new Modified & Custom Interconnects Design Guide. The guide details Samtec's design and development capabilities for application-specific interconnect products, whether simple modifications to standard systems or complete custom designs.

If a standard Samtec product is close, but not exactly what is needed, express modifications can be quickly and economically achieved. Capabilities include pin and body modifications, special platings and orientations, and custom cables and wiring. Express modifications are available with short leadtimes, quick-turn prototype samples, and no nonrecurring engineering charges (NREs), tooling charges or minimum order quantities (MOQ).

When a completely new in-house manufacturing design is required, Samtec's signal integrity expertise, and 'can-do' attitude make engineered custom interconnects a realistic alternative. Custom components such as contacts and pins, special housings and platings, rugged features, and special packaging are just a few of the capabilities for custom board level, high-speed cable and flex, I/O, and test applications, says the company.
