CUI - Two-bit quadrature encoders now offers IP65 protection Published Nov 19 2009 [Printer friendly version] [Email article to a friend] [More Subs & Systems articles] To prevent dust and water intrusion, CUI has announced that its C14 panel-mount optical encoder is now available with optional IP65 protection. The C14 series offers a 2-bit quadrature resolution with a clean square wave output signal. Possible applications include industrial equipment, portable communication equipment, and medical equipment, or as a replacement for a panel mount potentiometer.  The C14 series has a 16 or 32 angle of throw position along with three shaft options that include 3.175mm with slotted end, 6mm diameter round, and 6.35mm with D-cut.  Detent options include 16-position, 32-position, and non-detent versions.  A push SWITCH is available and there are four termination options including solder holes, 130mm cable with connector, PCB mount, and panel mount.
