The resistance range of its E/H MIL-PRF-55342-qualified thin-film resistor
chips, in the compact 2208, 2010, and 2512 case sizes, has been expanded,
says Vishay.
Allowing for lower resistance values in high-reliability applications, the
enhanced devices feature ratings down to 49.9ohm at ± 25ppm/C TCR and a 0.1%
tolerance, and 10ohm at a 1% tolerance.
Intended for high-reliability military and aerospace applications with
stringent performance requirements, the enhanced E/H resistor chips offer
stable film and performance characteristics of 200ppm at + 70C for 10,000
hours. Established reliability is assured through 100% screening and
extensive environmental lot testing, through which the devices have been
rated for an 'R' failure rate level (0.01 % per 1000 hours).
The resistors’ all-sputtered wraparound terminations ensure 'excellent'
adhesion and dimensional uniformity. Exact dimensions and clean, straight
edges are produced by a precise wafer-sawing process. The E/H devices’
electroplated nickel barrier layer enables operation at temperatures up to +
150C, and their high-purity alumina substrate allows for high power ratings.
In addition to very low noise of less than -25dB and a low voltage
coefficient of ± 0.5ppm/V, the non-inductive resistors feature an absolute
TCR down to ± 25ppm/-C, laser-trimmed tolerances down to 0.1%, and typical
wraparound resistance of < 0.01ohm.
