These Panasonic products, now available from Digi-Key, feature technology improvements that make it possible to add more capacitance into smaller case sizes while maintaining the largest possible operating voltage, improving the electrical performance and lowering the cost of MLCC Capacitors. A designer is no longer restricted to SMT (chip aluminium electrolytic or chip tantalum). The superior equivalent series resistance (ESR), equivalent series inductance (ESL), impedance and reliability of MLCCs can now be found in the higher capacitance values. The improved MLCC mechanical and electrical attributes enable designers to make electronic products smaller with less weight, better electrical performance, and at a lower cost; thereby making the designer's products more competitive. Product features include small size and high capacitance, low ESR/ESL and 'excellent' high-frequency characteristics. The devices are seen as ideal alternatives to tantalum chip capacitors and aluminium electrolytic capacitors Typical applications include portable electronics, medical devices, test equipment, instrumentation, mobile phones, RF modules, control equipment, power supply circuitry, decoupling applications and W-LANs, says the company.
