Acal RF & Microwave - M2M and automotive communications products in UK

The entire range of machine-to-machine (M2M) and automotive communications
products, including GSM/GPRS and Bluetooth modules, from Wavecom, are now
available in the UK, from Acal RF & Microwave.
Acal can now provide leading-edge wireless communications modules for
applications ranging from remote monitoring and signage to fleet management
and telematics applications. The agreement extends the existing distribution
area between Acal and Wavecom, which already covers Scandinavia, to the UK
and Ireland.
Machine-to-machine communications is a rapidly growing sector of the
electronics industry. It allows systems to automatically exchange data (via
wireless networks) then, interpret and react to status information, messages
and alarms without the need for human intervention.
"The extension of Acal´s agreement with Wavecom to the UK offers us a great
opportunity," said Steve Carr, sales and marketing director, Acal
Technology. "Machine-to-machine communications is one of the fastest-growing
sectors of the industry, and Wavecom´s products are recognised for their
high quality and technology leadership. Wavecom also complements a number of
our existing product ranges, including microsystems, semiconductors and RF
(radio frequency) products."
