Skyworks has introduced support of the DRM for FM (known as DRM+) digital radio standard in its popular family of Si479xx Hybrid SDR automotive tuners. The addition of DRM for FM capability fulfils the increasing demand of automotive radio manufacturers to support all global digital radio standards with a common platform. Support for DRM+ applies to Si479x7 devices and select devices in the wider portfolio.

The company is also improving the tuner family with IQMUX capability which simplifies the interface between the tuner and automotive SoC in SDR applications.

These hybrid SDR tuners enable automotive radio manufacturers to produce a single, global design that is scalable from entry-level to high-end and is configurable for regional radio standards. Its automotive tuner portfolio offers best-in-class AM/FM receiver performance and supports all broadcast radio bands comprising AM, FM, Long Wave, Short Wave, Weather Band, HD Radio, DAB (Band III) and DRM.
